Southlake in close vicinity of Corinth

Southlake is a city in the U.S. state of Texas that is primarily located in Tarrant County, with a few tiny outlying sections stretching into Denton County. Southlake is a city in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, just south-west of Corinth. According to the most recent census estimates, the city has a population of 32,376 people in 2019.

It was not until 1956 that the city of Southlake was formally established, four years after the completion of the building of Grapevine Lake. Prior to incorporation, the communities of Whites Chapel, Dove, Union Church, and Jellico comprised the present-day city of Southlake.

Until the building of the DFW International Airport in the 1970s, the area was primarily rural in nature. Southlake had rapid growth during the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s as a result of its close proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

As of 2019, the city's population was 32,376 people, with 9,192 households and more than 5,958 families living there. The population density per square mile (379.6 people per km2) was 983.0 people. There are 6,614 dwelling units at an average density of 302.1 per square mile (116.7 per km2), which is higher than the national average.

It is estimated that there are 25,554 White residents (78.9 percent) in Southlake, and 5,148 Asian residents (15.9 percent), 2,072 Hispanic residents (6.4 percent), 550 Black citizens (1.7 percent), and 809 people who are a mixture of two or more races.

Households with children under 18 lived in 6,414 households, of which 60.5 percent had children under the age of 18 living with them, 88.0 percent were married couples living together, 3.5 percent consisted of a single householder with no spouse present, and 7.1 percent consisted of non-families.

Individuals made up 5.4 percent of all households, while 1.2 percent of all households included someone living alone who was 65 years or older, according to census data.

There were 3.35 people living in the average household, and 3.48 people living in the average family. The average listing price for houses for sale in Southlake for the week ending January 8 was $883,109, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Three thousand nine hundred and ninety-two of the 6,602 occupied dwellings have nine or more rooms. Four-bedroom homes account for 4,660 of the total number of inhabited homes. Three-quarters of the 6,602 occupied residences have two automobiles. 2,348 of these residences have three or more automobiles.
